Planned yet Unplanned!

Same day, Friday afternoon, was a meeting day. Aside from letter submission, we anticipated this day as fruitful as it could be and as we could be. As far as the group was concerned, concept of this film must be done as soon as possible because it would be difficult if we rely on adlibs, on the spot script making and on fortune. We needed to double time to keep up with the advantages of avoiding unnecessary overload works; otherwise, it may affect other courses that also require something. Time was very precious at this moment, and we couldn’t afford to waste it.
Due to my PE class, I almost missed my group’s entire conversation but I still promised to attend there after it. When the class dismissed, I hurried up to their location to cope up with the conversation. They told me that they had made plenty of ideas while I was not around. They said that they planned on dealing with anime videos to dub on, province-like sceneries to be made, and pictures to put in the documentary. It really seemed to be a planned meeting but as the title connotes, it was "planned yet unplanned." Why? It was because due to too much idea we didn’t know how to connect them properly and suitably. We really had had a hard time to think for a final outcome. The time ran out and one of the group members needed to attend his Math class. So, we decided to finish it off and agreed to continue on Sunday through chat.

Submission of Letter!

The waiver for parental consent is another essential requirement in this Docufilm. Each of us obliges to submit our own letter for information purposes. Of course, it will serve as notification letter that our parents allow us to proceed for it and a proof for our professor that we are allowed.
This day, Friday, scheduled for the submission of waiver. Two of my group mates submitted their letter. But I and Bernice, our script writer, forgot to bring our own copy of it; so we decided to submit ours next week.

Long Awaited Meeting…

At last, the group decided to have their first ever meeting. It worried me a lot because other groups were actually giving much effort for this particular project, yet we were still uncertain for concrete concept.
The meeting started from clearing up the position of each group member wherein it emphasized things we should expect of being on this position. For instance, as the Documentation Officer, it shocked me that I was also responsible of searching persons to interview with.
Primarily, we tackled on how our film would be presented, and what methods and strategies to be followed. Though ideas were shared and opinions were given, still nothing happened. However, we already settled the date of shooting; so, it was agreed that we must have another meeting on Friday. Since we haven’t had our video camera yet, we decided to take our first shoot on second week of December; and because according to our Richzelle, our Project Leader, their video camera from Saudi Arabia would be sent here roughly that week.
Anyway, the first shoot would be held at Bulacan.

A Jinx Afternoon!

This day was truly unpleasant. I went to the library, deposited my things in depositing area, lost my number somewhere and paid for it, unless, I couldn’t retrieve my things. As I left there, the rain immediately fall, I forgot my umbrella, and waited there for a long time. Luckily, I saw a block mate and share his umbrella with me. However, it was not enough for both of us; so, I need to suffer of being wet.
As I went home, I fixed my things, dried them and threw everything I thought unnecessary. Unfortunately, I forgot the outline was inside my bag and unconsciously threw it. When I was looking for it on the other day, I haven’t found it and realized that it was thrown away together with my trash. I apologized to the group and decided to make another one.

Outline Making!

So far, I must say it was the most productive conversation of our group. Thanks to ma’am, she let the class to spend half of her time to talk about the project because we had no clear plan for it yet. She said that we should make our outline in order to clarify things and to decide what would be the concept of our film.
Richzelle, our Project Leader, said that she already found toxicologists to be interviewed but she couldn’t contact it. For the mean time, we had our brainstorming, and suddenly remembered that Harold, our Creative Director, is currently a SK Chairman in their town, and asked him if he knew someone that we can possibly interviewed. He said that he would try to search for someone.
Later on, as we were making our outline, Ma’am looked at our work and suggested guidelines or concept we could be followed. She suggested working on human body before and after it was contaminated by hazardous chemical. We agreed to her suggestion and hoping to pursue it appropriately.

First Day...

Absolutely not the usual Monday morning since our first SemBreak in college was ended.Goodbye sleepy nights! Goodbye stress-free days! And welcome to the other way around; eye bags and pimples due to mind breaking quizzes, terror professors, recitations, projects, and problem solving… Should I welcome that?! Anyway, that’s college life and I need to accept it.
It really was a packed of first days; it will be our first new semester in University, a first day of our class president's birthday celebration and, surprisingly, a day of project announcement. By the way, we expected the birthday celebrant to treat us, in fact, she promised to give ChocNut but it didn’t happen.
Ma’am Ramos, our Environmental Science professor, gave us our first ever project for this Semester. It will be a documentary film regarding to the maltreatment of humans in environment. Supposedly, we must be grouped according to our peer, but due to the request and insistence of the class, we group randomly. I belong to the group 10 with the following members and their assigned position:

Documentation Officer: Reynar Reyes
Creative Director: Harold Barcelona

Every details of it were explained in the class from the position mentioned above to the basics of making a film. Afterwards, each group was assigned for a particular topic through a draw-lots basis. Our group was assigned to present about Hazardous Waste and Substances. At least, every group was expected to prepare a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 35 minutes film.
