Unfortunately, the plan of returning to Bulacan was postponed due to some schedule/events occurred on this date. To solve this problem, instead of travelling back there we decided to pursue our lapses here in Manila.

Meeting

On 18th of December, the group had once again met to sort out things we left undone and things we already finished. It was just a short discussion since the internet connection was not functioning well. Anyway, it was Izel’s. We planned to talk at the Conference Room, but since we were all naïve and didn’t know that there were procedures to process first, some students stole us the chance and benefit from what should we be benefited.
First we did was to list all the things we accomplished at Bulacan. Then thinked of possible scene we could insert in the documentary film returning Bulacan. And immediately left the library.

One Big Shot(still to be edited)

I came at the university at 6:45 in the morning. As usual, none of them were there so I decided to find place wherein I could settle for awhile. At 6:55 am, Bernice arrived; then Richzelle with her cousin; and then Harold, our Creative Director and at the same our tour guide of the day, which lives near the university, arrived last. We left there at 7:10 am heading Baliuag bus terminal. According to Harold, it would be a two-hour travel from Manila up to Bulacan.
Almost nine o’clock in the morning when we reached our first stop, which was their house. We really felt home there because the people, most especially Harold’s family, were really accommodating. They welcomed us with smile and conversed like they’ve known us for a long time. Before starting the shoot, Harold’s mother suggested us to take some rest first. She brought us to their living room and prepared food. During our stay, we discovered many things about Harold.
By the way, we aimed to accomplish the following:
1) to take videos from New Zealand,

2) to interview Mr. Jerome Evangelista, a former councilor of Bulacan,

3) to watch a documentary entitled “The Inconvenient Truth”,

4) and to record for the voice over.

Our first shoot was held at New Zealand. We were accompanied by Harold’s father and uncle throughout the place. Let me call them as “escorts”. Harold, as the Creative Director, had the privilege taking videos, and I, as the Documentation Officer, took pictures for the blog. Before entering New Zealand, we smelled a stinky smell coming from the piggery. We stayed there for awhile, investigated the place and noticed a mud-like substance in the canal. According to our escorts, it was a wastes coming from pigs that flowed to the river. We took some pictures of it and pursued walking.

As we reached our destination, we were amazed from what we had seen. It was a very wide field filled with trees and plants. But despite of its remarkable scenery, there were parts of which seemed unpleasant. The piggery owner dumped wastes from some areas and citizens tend to put their trash all over the place. It really was disappointing.

After almost an hour of walking, we had finally done. We were sweating and tired due to distant walk. So, we decided to go back and to have our lunch.
11:00 am, we finished eating. We went to a farm taking pictures, as usual. We only spent a short time there and immediately returned to the house.

Since our interview with Mr. Jerome would be held at 3:00pm, we told Harold to barrow the documentary film entitled “The Inconvenient Truth” from Video City. His father took the initiative barrowing the CD. So, for the time being, Bernice and Richzelle played basketball, and I opted scanning the pictures I had taken earlier. I was amazed with what I have done. The pictures were just great like an artwork. I gave them a look and, obviously, shocked, amazed and praised me. Hahaha! Joke.

1:00 pm, we started watching that particular documentary film. As expected, it was boring.

2:30 pm, we went to Café’ Salon where our interview would be held. Due to traffic, we came there at 3:00 pm. We ordered drinks so that it was not shameful to standby at the store. At 3:30pm, he still not around. Each of us getting irritated and wondered waiting for him because as a former councilor he should follow simple rules he was expected to obey. Finally, at 4:00 pm, we spotted a white car coming our way. We felt relieve from what we’ve seen. Anger faded and excitement dominated. As the car getting nearer and nearer, Harold confirmed that it was his. So, he went downstairs to welcome him. From above we saw a woman instead of a man. We thought that she was the wife and a substitute of Mr. Jerome because she was pointing us out. But we proved ourselves wrong; she was neither a substitute nor a wife. It was just a false alarm!
We said that if at 4:30 pm he would not appear, then we must left the place to accomplish things we prepared and needed to achieve. Until 4:30 pm, we waited and so decided to leave the place.
Next goal was to record at recording studio. Bernice, Richzelle and I traveled by tricycle while Harold and Richzelle’s cousin by a motor. Harold instructed us to stop to a particular college. We did but lost!
It took time before we got the right way to the recording studio. The recording studio was not a typical studio everyone knows and absolutely not the recording studio we were expecting. It was ugly, dirty and a very ordinary store. LOL! J Anyway, Richzelle and Bernice were the chosen one to record. Midway of the recording, Harold’s dad called Richzelle about Mr. Jerome. He said that Mr. Jerome was delayed because of inevitable situation, it was traffic. So, we immediately halt the recording and told Manong to save what we had recorded.
At 6:00 pm, we returned to Café’ Salon. We immediately began the interview and fortunately ended it up smoothly.
After the interview, we went straight at Harold’s house via motorcycle where I and Richzelle’s cousin with his father, and Richzelle and Bernice with Harold. Almost 8:00 pm when we reached their home. We watched television for awhile, ate dinner and prepared our things. At 9:00, we traveled home.

Marked Up! Grr....

“Mag-conference (ym conference) na lang tayo sa Saturday,” said Richzelle.
Bernice replied,”Sure! Pero wag lang sa Saturday”
“Sige! Sige! Sa Sunday na lang, mga 7:00pm. Basta wag umaga.” I said.
I marked up that date over and over in my mind. Sunday! 7:00pm! Conference! I repeatedly told myself.
Friday had past. Saturday had past. And it was Sunday. I waited until 6:00pm, opened the computer set and sign in to YM. As expected, they were not yet online at that time because, as I’ve said, it was scheduled 7:00 pm.
I searched for additional person we could interview with for the time being. Fortunately, I was in my mood and found several persons; Lea Guerrero, Beau Baconguis and Dr. Lynn Panganiban were just some of them. Hopefully, I would contact them.
Nonetheless, the time was up. It was already 7:00pm and they were still not present. I assumed they were just late but I proved myself wrong because until 8:00pm, they did not appear. After all, I signed out expecting text messages.

By the way, IT WAS ANNOYING...

Planned yet Unplanned!

Same day, Friday afternoon, was a meeting day. Aside from letter submission, we anticipated this day as fruitful as it could be and as we could be. As far as the group was concerned, concept of this film must be done as soon as possible because it would be difficult if we rely on adlibs, on the spot script making and on fortune. We needed to double time to keep up with the advantages of avoiding unnecessary overload works; otherwise, it may affect other courses that also require something. Time was very precious at this moment, and we couldn’t afford to waste it.
Due to my PE class, I almost missed my group’s entire conversation but I still promised to attend there after it. When the class dismissed, I hurried up to their location to cope up with the conversation. They told me that they had made plenty of ideas while I was not around. They said that they planned on dealing with anime videos to dub on, province-like sceneries to be made, and pictures to put in the documentary. It really seemed to be a planned meeting but as the title connotes, it was "planned yet unplanned." Why? It was because due to too much idea we didn’t know how to connect them properly and suitably. We really had had a hard time to think for a final outcome. The time ran out and one of the group members needed to attend his Math class. So, we decided to finish it off and agreed to continue on Sunday through chat.

Submission of Letter!

The waiver for parental consent is another essential requirement in this Docufilm. Each of us obliges to submit our own letter for information purposes. Of course, it will serve as notification letter that our parents allow us to proceed for it and a proof for our professor that we are allowed.
This day, Friday, scheduled for the submission of waiver. Two of my group mates submitted their letter. But I and Bernice, our script writer, forgot to bring our own copy of it; so we decided to submit ours next week.

Long Awaited Meeting…

At last, the group decided to have their first ever meeting. It worried me a lot because other groups were actually giving much effort for this particular project, yet we were still uncertain for concrete concept.
The meeting started from clearing up the position of each group member wherein it emphasized things we should expect of being on this position. For instance, as the Documentation Officer, it shocked me that I was also responsible of searching persons to interview with.
Primarily, we tackled on how our film would be presented, and what methods and strategies to be followed. Though ideas were shared and opinions were given, still nothing happened. However, we already settled the date of shooting; so, it was agreed that we must have another meeting on Friday. Since we haven’t had our video camera yet, we decided to take our first shoot on second week of December; and because according to our Richzelle, our Project Leader, their video camera from Saudi Arabia would be sent here roughly that week.
Anyway, the first shoot would be held at Bulacan.
